Organization owner(s)
What is an Organization owner and how to appoint multiple?
The person who created a new Organization within Virtual Vaults, will automatically be appointed as the primary Organization owner. Some additional actions are available to the Organization owner only.
What else can the Organization owner do?
1. The Organization owner is the only one who can delete other users from the Organization. "Regular" users can only delete themselves from an Organization by leaving. |
2. View your (active) subscriptions and invoices. The Organization owner is the only one who can access all active subscriptions for Workspaces and Vaults, manage the billing information and access all invoices for the customer linked to the Organization. |
3. See the overview of every workspace in the Organization. Unlike regular Organization users, who only see the Workspaces they have access to, an Organization owner sees every Workspace created within their Organization, even those they don't have access to. This does not mean they can actually access them.
|
4. Manage Organization settings: Organization owners can set custom branding for all Workspaces (Workspace Plus subscription required), allow easy access to the Organization for colleagues by enabling the setting to join with the same email domain, and they can enable the Mandatory project identifier setting. |
As you can read above, the Organization owner has a pretty important role in our platform. Please click the following link to see all differences between "regular" Organization users and the Organization owner(s).
It is important this user can fully commit to this task, in case something needs to be arranged. But what if the Organization owner for whatever reason is no longer able to carry out this task? We have the possibility to grant multiple users this ownership.
The primary owner can do this via the Organization overview in My Virtual Vaults. In the steps below it is explained how this can be arranged.
Pay attention to the following when you want to grant a user the ownership:
Only already existing users in the Organization users list can be appointed as an additional or replacing owner.
By clicking Grant ownership on the right side of any other user, using the three dots, the following screen will pop-up in which you can confirm your request:
By granting a user the ownership, they can now perform all actions any owner can, as stated in the following article: Differences between users in your Organization.
Owners can also revoke each other's ownership. They can do this in the same way as they granted it and once again, a confirmation screen will pop up.
