Security key
How to setup a Security key for secure login.
Hardware authentication is the strongest multi factor authentication (MFA) option available. A physical security key is required when you login to your account. Next to the security key, it will ask you to confirm that you are a real person via a PIN.
How the security key works
- You’ll need the security key when you sign in to Virtual Vaults.
- Each time you log in, you'll need to insert the security key in your computer and input a PIN.
Set up your security key
1. Go to your User details and click Update settings at Security keys. |
2. Click Add security key |
3. Enter your password and click Next. |
4. Insert your security key into your computer and click Start. |
5. Confirm if the setup is for the correct email and click Ok. |
6. Setup a PIN for the security key if this is your first time using this key and click OK. |
7. Give this security key a name and click Save. |
8. Registration of your security key has been successful. |
Security key Tip: We strongly recommend, after registering your security key, that you setup an authentication app and/or register a backup security key. In case you lose your security key, you will always have additional ways to authenticate yourself.

Note: A study by Microsoft shows that Multi Factor Authentication can block over 99,9% of attacks on accounts. Visit What is multi factor authentication (MFA)? to learn more about this added layer of security.
