Open the Audit Logs

Admins can download the complete audit trail of the Data Room. The audit log will be downloaded as a zip file, which contains two files:

  1. Audit.log: Displays all information on document level: uploads, moves, edits, deletions, permission changes. To understand better the Documents Audit Legend, visit Documents Audit Legend.
  2. RolesandUsers.log: Displays all information related to groups, roles and users. To understand better the Roles & Users Audit Legend, visit Roles & Users Audit Legend.
These files are also included in the Admin Archive perspective.

To open and read the audit logs, first extract the files, open a new workbook in Microsoft Excel and use the following steps:

1. Click the tab Data. Select Data
2. Select From text/CSV.
 
If you are not using Excel in Office 365, navigate to Data/New Query/From File/From CSV. See image right.
3. Search for the location of the audit log.

Select Audit log
4. Change All files to Text files.
5. Select the one of the audit logs.
 

6. Click Import.

7. Set the Delimiter to Comma.

Select Comma

8. Click Load.
