The Q&A is divided into two sides: the Question group (buy side) and the Answer group (sell side).
Visibility rules ensure that each side only see what is relevant and appropriate for their role, whilst protecting sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
Question group
The Question group only includes the Question Drafters and Question Submitters, as users with no Q&A role cannot see the Q&A.
They can:
- See only their own buyer group's questions and disclosed answers
- See who in their buyer group drafted and submitted questions, but only if they access to the question reference (folder or document)
- Not see sell side user names, roles or labels (sell side is always anonymous)
- Use the internal Q&A chat within their own buyer group
Answer group
The Answer group only includes the Answer Drafters and Q&A Coordinators, as users with no Q&A role cannot see the Q&A.
They can:
- See all questions from all buyer groups, but only if they access to the question reference (folder or document)
- See drafted and disclosed answers, statuses, user labels, categories, tags and assigned users
- See the Question Submitter's name, but the Question Drafter will remain anonymous (Contributors can only see this if the "User visibility" feature has been enabled)
- Not see the buy side's internal chat
- Use their own internal chat within the Answer group only
- Manage assigning, drafting, approving and disclosing answers
Key visibility rules to remember
- Buyer group isolation: Buyer groups never see each other’s Q&A and do not know of each other's existence
- Anonymity: The buy side never sees sell side users and the sell side does not see Question Drafter names
- Reference access: No access to the reference = no visibility of the question or answer
- User labels: May be visible to the Answer group (if enabled), but this not visible to the Question group
