Redacted documents
How are redacted documents displayed in the Vault?
Depending on the way the document or documents were redacted, the document viewer will display them in two different ways. See the images below to see the difference between the two types of redacted documents.

The file on the left contains only a black surface. The underlying metadata is still present and will show results in the search bar. |
The file on the right was redacted with a redaction tool, for example, Adobe Acrobat Pro. The underlying metadata is deleted and therefore it will not show results in the search bar. |
Document Management Tip: Check how the redacted files are displayed in the document viewer before inviting users. There are edge cases where the source file has flaws in the lay-out. This may cause a difference in the lay-out between the supporting program on your PC and the lay-out in the document viewer.
